Under the patronage of her Excellency “Prof. Rowaida Al-Maaitah” minister of higher education and scientific research, Representative of her majesty“Queen Ranai AlAbdullah”, the International Conference of Young Chemists has been launched in presence of more than 300 participants from 28 countries including 10 Arab countries, 10 European countries in addition to the united states and countries from Asia, Africa and central America. The opening ceremony was started with fragrant verses of holy  Quran, followed by a speech for the chair of the organizing committee Dr. Amal Al-Aboudi about the idea and the objectives of the conference, then  a talk by Dr. Mohammad Al-Halaiqa entitled "Chemistry and Economic Development in Jordan" is followed.
In turn, Dr. Nancy Jackson (Former President of “The American Chemical Society”, the manager of the International Chemical Threat Reduction Department, Sandia National Laboratories- United States) highlighted the important role of chemistry in the world.
UJ’s president, Prof. Ekhleif Tarawneh praised the organization of such events, stressing the importance of such events to the youth generation.
At the end, UJ’s president, Prof. Ekhleif Tarawneh submitted the conference trophy to her Excellency Prof. Rowaida Al-Maaitah followed by Science Fair exhibition opening.
